Change File Name

Android


All files are required to have a filename. To change file name:
Tap and open a File > Tap > Tap Rename.

You are not able to add the following symbols \/:*?”<>| as these characters are not recognised as filename on some operating system (e.g. Windows). JotterPad overrides the illegal symbol with a hyphen symbol.


iOS


Method 1: Tap on a file and hold to reveal context menu > Tap 'Rename'.
Method 2: Tap and open a file > Tap icon (top right hand corner of your screen) > Tap Rename.

Method 1:

Rename in the editor.
To rename a file in editor, click on the file name > Edit the Name field.

Method 2:
Right click to rename file.
To rename a file in file directory, right click on the File > Select Rename. Please note that you can only rename a downloaded text file in cloud storage. A downloaded text file is indicated by a green tick cloud icon.

In your Workspace > Locate the File that you would like to rename > Click on the icon > Select Rename.
