Interface Overview

Android


Organise Text Files in the File Directory




Navigation Menu

Tap on ≡ to reveal the navigation menu.


Navigate Between Folders



Select the breadcrumb to navigate to the parent folder. You can also use the swipe gesture (from left to right) to return to the parent folder.


Sync Status





Tap on the sync button to reveal the sync status of the cloud services (Only applicable to the Cloud storage).


Folders and Text Files



Create a New Text File

Press + icon to create a new text file.


Other Options:

Tap â‹® to select other options:


  • Search
  • Delete
  • Create New Folder
  • Home
  • Thumbnail/List View


Editor



Create a new text file or open an existing file to open the editor. For existing files, press the edit button (pen icon) at the bottom right to go into the edit mode.

Create a New File

Press + icon to create a new file or folder. You can also import files into JotterPad.


The supported import file formats are .txt, .md, .fountain and .fdx files.

Other Options

Tap ⋯ to select other options:


  • Select File(s) and Folder(s)
  • Create New Folder
  • Sort File(s) & Folder(s) by Name
  • Sort File(s) & Folder(s) by Date
  • Sort File(s) & Folder(s) by Type


Sync Status



Indicates the last sync status of the Cloud service. To view your Cloud service's last sync status, go to JotterPad > Cloud > tap on the Sync icon. To learn more about the sync status on iOS, please refer to the article here.

Start Screen​



Create a New Document​

Click on New Document to create a new markdown or fountain document​​


Open Recent Document ​

Click on document shown in Recent > select Open.​


Open Document​

Click on Open Document to open a document (.md, .fountain, .FDX) from your computer.

Start Screen



Create a New Document​

Click on New Document to create a new text, markdown or fountain document​​.


Open Recent Document

Click on document shown in Recent Items.


Open Document

Click on Open Document and select a document from your Workspace under Local or Cloud.

Tips: You can also create a new document or folder in your Workspace by clicking on + New.


Navigating around your Workspace



Copy or Duplicating a Document

Click on the â‹® icon to copy or duplicate a document.


Importing a Document

Click on the + New button to import a document.

Only .md, .txt and .fountain documents can be imported.

Local and Cloud

You can access your files stored on the computer via Local or, a Cloud service via Cloud.

Tips: Click on the >> button to expand the widget and see the names of the icons.


Sync Status



Indicates the last sync status of the Cloud service. (Only applicable to files and folders in the Cloud storage)


Tips: To sync your files and folders that are stored in the Cloud, click on the Sync button or the icon at the top right corner.


Editor

Before you can publish a document, you will first need to add a new publishing service. This can be done by going to Settings > Publish > + Add a new Publishing Service
